This includes attending all meetings, serving as a positive leader and role model for other students, and participating actively in NHS service projects to benefit our school, community, and the world.
Scholarship is demonstrated through academic honors and awards and by maintaining a 4.1 GPA.
Leadership involves resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills. Members have a positive influence on peers and environment. Applicants must demonstrate responsibility and initiative. Leadership involves delegating tasks to team members and working towards a goal.
Service requires someone to be dependable and for them to work well with others. Members show courtesy and respect for others and their perspectives. We also look at applicant's attitude towards service.
Character requires members to exemplify the Six Pillars of Character: respect, responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, caring, and citizenship.

1. A properly formatted resumé that shows your leadership and service activities, as well as your honors and awards
2. Four letters of recommendation that exemplify your character
Ms. Raper will submit an official copy of your transcript to the Selection Committee. This will cover the academic portion of your Scholarship.

Extracurricular/Work
1. Four total recommendations are needed: 2 from current teachers, 1 from a former teacher, and 1 from student’s choosing (coach, mentor, outside community leader)
2. Ask teachers that you think will write you a favorable recommendation. Go in person, then attempt email.
3. Request recommendations at least 3 weeks in advance.
4. Ask as soon as you know who you want as your recommender. Give them a resume (whatever form they prefer) and an envelope.
5. Follow up with an email immediately → sending them your resume, the deadline, and ask if they require anything else.
6. Follow up a week before the deadline.
7. Follow up after the applications are over with a thank you.
